Dr. Mrs. Ene Ede

Member

Educationist, Journalist, Economist, Public information Intectual, Mediator and promoter of minority rights.
Ene Ede is a human rights and development advocacy professional from Nigeria. She had, until recently, been providing full-time gender strategic and programmatic advisory services to Search for Common Ground (SFCG), a global conciliation and mediation facilitation non-profit organization extensively active in Nigeria. Prior to that, she had been selected and or elected to serve on the leadership of a variety of public institutions including the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), where she experienced first-hand and data-proven, the grand deficit and mismanagement that have characterized the Nigeria public governance system; the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), that afforded her the benefit of comparative and peer review analysis. She has also been involved in civil society, women and youth platforms on which she has constantly been organizing and acting as a woman of the people.

Eni Ede has also made significant contributions to human rights and development in Nigeria through her advocacy in the print media by publishing The Woman Today Newspaper and by facilitating Community Information Resource Centers, as well as serving as the Executive Director of the non-governmental-organization Equity Advocates.

Within the past 20 years, Ene has garnered great insights and experience in election management, facilitation and participation by serving in a variety of capacities that include:
• Resource person in campaign secretariats
• Monitoring and observation facilitation and participation
• Voter mapping, mobilization and balloting.
She is currently on sabbatical from the Electoral Empowerment of Civil Society Project (EECSP) Consortium, as Gender and Social Inclusion Advisor to fully commit herself to active engagement in the 2019 election as Deputy Governor candidate of Benue State.
