
CEPEJ 8th Annual Conference Security & Environment
On the 7th & 8th of November, 2017, CEPEJ organized the 8 annual Conference at University of Benin, Banquet Hall, Benin City, Edo State
On the 7th & 8th of November, 2017, CEPEJ organized the 8 annual Conference at University of Benin, Banquet Hall, Benin City, Edo State, with the aim of educating Niger Deltan, Nigerian and African at large on the need to sustain security and environment through proactive attitudes and moral values in order to improve the economic, social, political and cultural development of the society, as well as enlighten the target audience on the significant roles to play in peacebuilding, security and sustainable environment with the tagged “EDO 2017” with the theme: “Niger Delta:, Security and Environment.”
The Conference assemblage various security and environment stakeholders who brainstorm on pressing development issues, environmental and security challenges in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, as well as options for addressing the menace, using participatory methods such as paper presentations, introduction of 2017 edition of Peace and Environment Africa Journal, Volume 4, and plenary session in which a communiqué emerged through participants’ discussion and adoption.
The program had in attendance a total number of 215 participants comprising of 113 females and 102 males drawn from community members, critical stakeholders, youth body, women body, Civil society Organizations (CSOs), government agencies, security personnel, representative of Edo State government, Presidential Amnesty Office, Representative of EGCDF, Multi National Oil companies, Corporative bodies, Media and students.
