Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ Commemorates International Day of Peace


A non-governmental Civil Society Organization, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, led by its Country Director, High Chief Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has embarked on several peace programmes in Nigeria, marked by the distribution of notebooks to many schools in the Niger Delta Region.



To promote and encourage quality education in the Niger Delta Region, CEPEJ commenced the distribution of 5,500 notebooks to Secondary Schools in Bayelsa and Delta States. The CEPEJ team was at Ogbia Secondary School in Bayelsa and Ubiaroku Secondary school in Delta State, where it distributed notebooks to members of CEPEJ Peace and Environment Club (PEC) and other school's students



The Principal of the School, Mr. Ibegu B. Robins commended the NGO's Country Director/CEO Chief Mulade Sheriff and the Management of the NGO for donating the books to encourage western education towards nation building.

In the same vain the Principal and Vice as well as the Students of Ubiaruku Secondary thanked the Country Director Chief Mulade Sheriff for his fine gesture in providing notebooks to the students and prayed God Almighty to bless his effort in support of quality education in the Delta State.


On Tuesday September 21, 2021, CEPEJ team led by the NGO's Country Director/CEO, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, a Peace Ambassador, and the Chairman Board of Trustees, Dr. Chief Godwin Orhadahwe, visited the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, to celebrate the day and congratulated him on his peaceful and successful coronation, wishing the Royal Father a peaceful reign on the throne of his ancestors.



The CEPEJ Head Office in Warri also joined the Warri Multi- Stakeholders Platform, MSP, on Thurs Sept 23, 2021 at Wellington Hotel, Effurun in Delta State, to commemorate the Peace Day in an Ijaw & Itsekiri leaders’ summit with the theme, "Leaders Role in Fostering Peaceful Coexistence, Security & Development."




Meanwhile CEPEJ Abuja Office collaborated with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution IPCR, Abuja, a Federal Government Agency, and other Civil Society Organizations hold pre-press briefing to sensitized and awakening the consciousness of Nigerians ahead of the World Peace Day, organize a novelty peace march at national stadium, Abuja, Zoom conference, open air event in line with COVID-19 protocols at IPCR premises Abuja to mark the 2021 International Day of Peace.




All the programmes were well attended in support of sustainable peace and unity in the Niger Delta Region, Nigeria and the world in general.
