Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) in line with the vision and mandate of the organization to support activities towards improved outcomes for the people of Nigeria, on Wednesday September 18, 2021 participated in a Community Enlightenment Workshop in Kano State. The National Coordinator, Comrade Sheriff Mulade was represented by the CEPEJ Kano State Coordinator Mr. Auwali Idris . His active role at the event was plainly noticed by all who graced the occasion.

The Enlightenment Program, focused on Strengthening Maternal and Child Healthcare through accountability interventions in Gwale local Government in Kano State. The event took place at the Islamic Center, Gwale Local Government Area and was organized by Resources Center for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED).

Those who attended the event for the enlightenment program include community women leaders, the Media, CSOs & CBOs, and Health care Professionals.

Highlight of the program include a panel discussion on Promotion of Democratic Participation as well as Budget Hearings on Accountability. The discussion focused more on the importance to internalize the need as well as create demand for Citizens-led Accountability Strategies and Tools for ensuring Maternal and Child Health care accountability in Kano State.

Those who attended the program thanked the organizers of the program and appreciated everyone for being part of the program.
