CEPEJ MEETS CHAIRMAN, DELTA STATE ENVIRONMENTAL TASK FORCE, HON OROMONI

The Chairman, Delta State Environmental Task Force - Hon. Sylvester Oromoni has commended Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) for its planned programme for Ijaw and Itsekiri youths on Peacebuilding and Early Warning Signal in Warri South West.
He made the commendation when he hosted the delegation of CEPEJ in Warri on Monday February 17, 2020.
The programme is designed to build the youths on how to prevent conflict, respond and report issues that may lead to conflict as well as how to improve on the existing peaceful coexistence among the Ijaws /Itsekiris and build on the sustainable Peace in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Hon. Oromoni was impressed about the planned programme by CEPEJ, said that; "This programme will not only foster peace, unity and finding solutions to the numerous crises, it will also help in strengthening the relationship between the Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri South West".
He advised that the programme should be extended to other parts of the State, adding that; “ There are other parts of the State that are prone to conflict that also need this training, this is a way to create a peaceful, united and stronger Delta State"
Hon. Oromoni thanked the delegation and promised to collaborate and work with CEPEJ to build and sustain the existing peace in Warri South West and Delta State in general.
Mr Samuel Ideh, Programme Manager of CEPEJ who led the delegation explained that the programme is designed to build the youths on how to prevent conflict, respond and report issues that may lead to conflict as well as how to improve on the existing peaceful coexistence among the Ijaws /Itsekiris and build on the sustainable Peace in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Mr. Ideh who presented CEPEJ newsletters, calendars and a letter of collaboration / partnership was accompanied by Mr. Daniel Tonfawei – Communication & Networking Office and Mr. Doubra Patrick Boidifigha – Programme Officer on Environment.
