CEPEJ Takes School Awareness Campaign to Oproza Grammar School, Patani

Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, an NGO based in Delta State with branch offices in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Bayelsa and Niger States, on Tuesday Nov. 9, 2021, visited Oproza Grammar School, Patani in Patani LGA of Delta State to sensitize the students on the need to shun cultism, violence, political thuggery and environmental degradation.

Speaking at the event, the Senior Programmes Manager of CEPEJ, Mr. Samuel Ideh urged the students to be part of efforts at making the environment clean at all times in order to curtail the spread of deadly diseases. He also emphasized the importance of environmental sanitation and cleanliness within the school environment and at home, while cautioning them against violent behaviors.

For his part, the NGO's Programmes Manager, Communications, Mr. Dan Tonfawei advised the students against being involved in cultism which inhibits success and prosperity. He also encouraged the students to be law abiding and peace loving, as well as avoid conflicts always.

Mr. Tonfawei advised the students to obey all COVID-19 protocols put in place by the Federal and State Governments such as constant hand washing, keeping safe distances, using face masks and hand sanitizers, so as to stay safe and protect the lives of their loved ones.

The Principal of Oproza Grammar School, Patani, Mr. David Aminugo thanked CEPEJ and its Country Director, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade for organizing such an awareness campaign programme to sensitize students to shun the social vices which can affect their future negatively, and also for selecting Oproza Grammar School for the programmme. He prayed God to bless CEPEJ in all its endeavors.

The school awareness campaign programme is part of CEPEJ's early warning awareness programmes to build peace, inculcate good morals, good governance and conflict resolution in Nigeria school children.

Also on the CEPEJ team at the school awareness programme were CEPEJ's Corporate Manager, Administration and Accounts, Mrs. Agidi Tina, Logistics Manager, Mr. Dimeji ... and the ICT Manager, Mr. Olatoke Olasupo.
