CEPEJ visit Warri, Uvwie and Environ's Development Agency - WUEDA

A delegation from Center for Peace and Environmental Justice - CEPEJ with Mr. Samuel Ideh-Programme Manager, Mr. Doubra Patrick Boidifigha - Programme Officer on Environment and Mr. Tonfawei Daniel - Communication & Networking Officer, paid a brief visit to the Office of the Warri Uvwie and Environ's Development Agency ( WUEDA) Warri, to discuss on how an environmental hazard condition ( massive heap of refuse) located at IJAKPA Nursery and Primary School, Effurun can be evacuated.
This pollution was identified some months ago when CEPEJ embarked on a School Sensitization program, Tagged : "Catch them Young programme" on peacebuilding and shun cultism, drug addiction, rape and promote good study habit and religious tolerance for Schools in Uvwie and Okpe Kingdoms .

CEPEJ identified this ugly and life threatening seen when they visited the School and discovered a massive heap of refuse by the School premises, the said heap of refuse has been there for many years the community people lamented.
It is imperative to state that with CEPEJ drive for a cleaner environment for Delta (tagged: OKOWA FOR CLEANER AND SAFER DELTA) and to protect and preserve the environment for better leaving, CEPEJ requested for the evacuation of the refuse from the school premises and for the State Government to intervene by relocating the School , which the Delta State Government have responded positively by Building a new School complex in the Premises . "We want to sincerely thank and appreciate His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for the immediate positive response by Building a new School complex in the Premises", the CEPEJ representative said.
The visit to WUEDA was to create a synergy and build a relationship with the Agency with CEPEJ Goals, Vision and Mission and see how the refuse can be evacuated from the school premises.
The team met with the Director of Admin. MR. JOHN EWUBA who commended the activities of CEPEJ and the role played so far in making sure the Students in IJAKPA School have a conducive environment for learning and for the community to have a cleaner / safe environment devoured of health problems.He further provided suggestions on how the evacuation plan can be achieved effectively.
Mr. Samuel Ideh- Programmer Manager who lead the delegation , thanked the Agency for the developmental works being done in the area and presented the CEPEJ news letters to the Agency .
Mr. John Ewuba was very impressed with CEPEJ plans and promises to work with the NGO in the future.
