DELTA SPORTS DEVELOPMENT: Panacea for Inter-Ethnic Unity

Warri: Deltans are now set to storm Ugborodo Town, Escravos, in Warri South West LGA of Delta State for the grand finale of Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity Football Cup tournament (also know as Comrade Mulade Sheriff Peace and Unity Carnival) featuring football and cultural entertainment s.


A renowned human and environmental justice advocate, Comrade Chief Mulade Sheriff who disclosed this to newsmen in Warri, adding that, dignitaries from all walks of life, including ex international football stars.







His Excellency, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, Executive Governor of Delta State will be the Special Guest of Honour while Royal Fathers of the day are His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Aketekpe, Agadagba The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Pere Ama Okusu of Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Agadagba, The Pere of Egbema Kingdom and a host of others.


The peace advocate enjoin all well meaning Deltans, particularly of Ijaw and Itsekiri ethnic nationalities, to mobilize enmass to the event by showing commitment towards deepening and sustaining peaceful coexistence between both ethnic groups.



Chief Mulade, National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), a non-governmental organization, assured all participating communities for continued commitment and support towards deepening the much desired unity because Ijaw and Itsekiri are veritable economic live wires of Delta State and the Niger Delta Region.
