Edo State Assembly Election: NGO Congratulates New House Leaders

The Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, (CEPEJ) has congratulated the newly-elected Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Mr. Frank Okiye and his deputy, Mr Yekini Idiaye, on their emergence as leaders of the 7th Assembly.
In a statement signed by Comrade Sheriff Mulade, National Coordinator of CEPEJ on Wednesday, the NGO said that the inauguration of the 7th Assembly would enable members to commence legislative activities.
Comrade Mulade congratulated the 7th Assembly on its inauguration and the election of Rt. Hon Frank Okiye as Speaker and Honorable Yekini Idiaye as Deputy Speaker, believing that their choice would bring about progress and in turn, pave the way for more development in the State.
The NGO assured that the executive would maintain a seamless and fruitful relationship with the 7th Assembly as experienced during the 6th Assembly.
CEPEJ said it was ready to work with the newly inaugurated Assembly in deepening progressive ideas in Edo State. The NGO promised to ensure that there is a close synergy towards the delivery of policies, programmes and initiatives targeted at repositioning the State as an economic powerhouse in the country.
The NGO appealed to the elected Speakers to provide a tech-driven and people-oriented governance in Edo State for citizens to key into, so as to achieve the State’s overall objectives of prosperity and economic growth.
CEPEJ also wished the newly-sworn in members fruitful four years of impactful legislative activities.
