Governor Okowa’s Aide Ready to Collaborate with CEPEJ on Peacebuilding and Economic Empowerment for Youths across the 25 LGA’s of Delta State



On Tuesday February 18, 2020 the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution –


received the delegation of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice – CEPEJ at the Office Secretariat in Asaba.

The visit was base on peacebuilding and Economic Empowerment Program for youths across the 25 LGA’s of Delta State that is being proposed by CEPEJ. The program is designed in such a way that it will help to liberate Delta youths who are machineries for conflicts and crisis, those that have the potentials to cause violence and other negative verses in the community. A reorientation pep talk and sensitization on the importance to say no to violence and conflict is arranged and training on Agriculture in different farm produce, fisheries, piggery, snail rearing, poultry etc, training on various artisan skills in barbing, hair dressing, detergent making, tailoring etc, will be carried out in line with both the peacebuilding and economic empowerment through agro - entrepreneurship by trained CEPEJ Staff and others who are skilled in the field of the program

Chief Uzoh appreciated the visit by commending CEPEJ for coming up with this program that is set to solve the main problems of youths in Delta State, he said “this program will solve the major causes of conflicts perpetuated by youths in various communities, with this, many youths will no longer be used to create problems, cause conflicts, violence and crisis, their eyes will be opened, recognizing what is bad”.

High point of the Visit was the presentation of CEPEJ Newsletters, 2020 Calendars and a collaboration letter by CEPEJ delegation comprises of Mr. Daniel S. Tonfawei – Communication & Networking Officer, who led the delegation, Mrs. Tina Agidi – Corporate Manager, Admin & Finance, Mr. Samuel Ideh – Program Manager, and Doubra Patrick Doidifigha - Program Officer, Environment.

Chief Uzoh promised to collaborate and support CEPEJ. He said “CEPEJ and the national coordinator Comrade Sheriff Mulade are house hold names known for organizing laudable programs, no one will see such a program and do not want to collaborate, you have my support”.
