The relationship with our partners, both local and international, not only represent partnerships for specific projects but have also formed the building blocks for multi-stakeholder networks that can link up efforts and resources for increased impact.me. Center for Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ is aware of the work which the United Nations and its partners are doing towards national and human development. We therefore wish to partner with the United Nations Information Center to enable us lend a voice to the issues that have become of national and international concern, as well as create a platform where ideas can be shared, history re-visited to conceptualize ideas that will proffer solutions to the human capital development issues in the country.

CEPEJ is fully committed to implementing the SDGs 4, 11,13,15,16 and 17 towards ensuring that no Nigerian, especially the marginalized masses, are not left behind. In spite of the current economic realities in the country and lack of sustained funds coming from philanthropists, private sector engagement and donors, CEPEJ has continued to commit organizational overhead funds to implement the SDGs and devise efficient and sustainable means to ensure that the SDGs are promoted and owned by the beneficiaries, ranging from women, children and facilities to schools.

 Security and education are primary development challenges in Nigeria today and are significant barriers to the achievement of the SDGs. Environmental sustainability too has received little attention with regards to implementation of strategies to reach the young and adolescent populations towards improving sanitation and health outcomes.

These challenges are further complicated by the changing nature of conflicts that involve multi-level, inter and intra-state conflicts of extensive duration usually marked by recurring violence. Peace building has emerged as a central strategy to address conflict and accelerate progress towards achieving other SDG goals.

The projects that CEPEJ takes on are unique in implementation and are designed to strengthen resilience, social cohesion, human security and environmental protection at different age-group levels in conflict-affected contexts, including the states at risk of, or are experiencing and recovering from conflict. As an end result, programmes are expected to strengthen policies and practices in education for peace building. In order to achieve these results, the programmes implemented in the following areas will focus on three key outcomes.
